Home Service 2022

Phillipians 1:3-6:

"I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.  And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."

January 24th, 2022 will mark 5 years since my deployment as a missionary to the Dominican Republic. I served three years as a GEO (short term) missionary, and the past two years as a career missionary. God really blessed me in those first years with generous supporters and a multitude of prayer warriors. He continues to bless Rafael and I now with both the prayer and financial support to continue serving in the Dominican Republic.

We are looking forward to a move next year to Chile, where Rafa will, God-willing, serve a time of vicarage before being ordained as a pastor. I will continue serving in my position on the regional team of LCMS Missions in Latin America & the Caribbean.

Before we move, I'm planning a time of "home service". My last time of home service was in the fall of 2019 - were we able to meet up then? Home service is the opportunity to return to the US to reconnect with family, friends, and give thanks to the numerous supporters who have been walking with us. I'll be traveling in the midwest mostly after a time of meetings and classes in January to visit churches, families, and other supporters. My visits usually consist of a presentation, which varies in length, that provides an update and overview of the work we are involved in as missionaries. I'm excited to share in-person the work God's doing around Latin America and be able to re-connect with you.

Here's the schedule so far - I would love to see you! If you (or your congregation, school, LWML group, Bible class, Sunday school class, youth group, mission board, etc.) would like a visit and/or missionary presentation, email me. I'm also up for coffee shop meet-ups or sharing a meal together.

Please note our prayer request for Rafael to be able to obtain a visa to travel along with me for at least part of the time. It would be a true answer to prayer if the Embassy would reopen those applications so he could meet my extended family and friends, receive encouragement, and share about his work, too!
